A major building services upgrade, achieving a 6-Star NABERS rating (one of only 14 6-star buildings in Brisbane) with new end-of-trip facilities, a ground floor lobby refurbishment, and two floors of office suites.
Forza Capital secured a $30 million loan from the federal government’s Clean Energy Finance Corporation to acquire and refurbish a 25-year-old Brisbane office building and cut its carbon emissions by as much as 55 percent.
The project required refurbishing and upgrading the 7683 square-metre, B-grade building to achieve a 6-star rating under the National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS). This was one of the highest environmental ratings possible for a commercial building, obtained by only 6 percent of all commercial buildings around Australia and is one of only 14 in Brisbane to hold a 6-star rating and the only non-institutional / new generation building.
Sidecar managed the design and construction of this project in a fully occupied building. The team worked together to come up with a staged design and construction program which satisfied the project objectives without compromising the tenant's amenity.
